Reference center of the divine festival of Paraty
The Divine Festival of Paraty located in the city considered a World Heritage Site (UNESCO) is the largest festival in the region with 10 days of cultural and religious programming. According to the Department of Culture, approximately 10,000 to 15,000 people circulate during these 10 days of celebration.The festival includes typical dances , musical shows, masses and the traditional delivery of food to the most needy, mobilizing the entire local population that keeps traditions alive.
All the preparatory activities for the celebration of the 10 days of festivals take place in the Main Church of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, cataloged by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) since 1962 through volunteers.
The selected project that will be accompanied by forLAR will be the construction of a Center as an exclusive cultural space of reference for the Festa do Divino in order to collect, catalog and record memory and history through documentary collections, testimonies, photos and videos for the dissemination of this cultural asset through exhibitions open to the public.
